Workplace conditions constitute important factors that can influence employee performance by shaping employees’ physical wellbeing, social interactions and capacity to fulfil work responsibilities. This study examined the effect of organisational wellness programmes on the performance of employees of the Akwa Ibom State Civil Service. Specifically, the study examined the effects of physical wellness programmes and social wellness programmes on quality of service delivery. A cross-sectional survey design was adopted for the study. The population comprised 802 employees from five selected establishments of the Akwa Ibom State Civil Service, from which a sample size of 278 was determined. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire. The data were analysed using frequency counts and percentages, while the hypotheses were tested using simple regression analysis at a 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed that physical wellness programmes had a significant positive effect on quality of service delivery. The findings further showed that social wellness programmes had a significant positive effect on quality of service delivery. The study concludes that organisational wellness programmes significantly influence employee performance, as operationalised through quality of service delivery. It recommends strengthening physical wellness programmes and promoting social wellness programmes to support employee performance and enhance the quality of public service delivery in the Akwa Ibom State Civil Service.
