Abstract

This study was motivated by the urgent need to solve the environmental problems caused by the activities of profit driven entrepreneurs in a developing economy as well as exploring the benefits of saving cost to organizations. The study was aimed at determining the extent to which green entrepreneurship practices affect SMEs performance in the FCT, while the specific objective was to determine the effect of green entrepreneurship adaptability, affordability and efficiency on the performance of SMEs in the FCT. The study made use of Structured Equation Model (SEM) using Smart PLS to estimate and analyze the objectives. Probability level of significance was given at 5%. Data were presented using Partial Least Squares based Structural Equation Modelling. Findings revealed that the effect of Green Adaptability on performance was insignificant (R2= 1.185: p= -0.004 >0.05); the effect of green affordability on performance was insignificant (R2 = 1.472: p= 0.031 >0.05); and the effect of green efficiency on performance was significant (R2= 42.626: p= 0.968 >0.05). It is concluded that, the implementation of green entrepreneurship principles and processes will lead to very positive outcome that will be visibly manifested in SME organizations and the environment. It is therefore recommended that all relevant stakeholders should therefore put in place adequate measures to spur its adoption and implementation by most entities.
