Agriculture is key to achieving food security, it is important to recognize the contribution of agribusiness in boosting yield, productivity and improving farmers’ income in an economy. The study examines the effect of agribusiness on Irish potato farmers income in Mangu LGA of plateau state. The study adopted the binary probit regression and Average Treatment on Treated (ATT) method of analysis to evaluate the effect of agribusiness on Irish potato farmers’ income. The finding showed that the coefficient of ATT is positive and t-statistics (2.35) is greater than two (2), which clearly demonstrates that benefiting from agribusiness have a significant positive effect on Irish potato farmers income in the local government area at 5% level of significant. The study concluded that adopting agribusiness in potato production will significantly increase yield that will be sold for more income to the farmer. The study recommends that the local government council chairman through the department of agriculture in the LGA should collaborate with Plateau State ministry of industry and commerce to create an avenue where Irish potato can be commercialized not only in the domestic market but at the international market for higher bargaining power and income to potato farmers.
