Abstract

This study examined the impact of wage and salary on staff productivity in Suleja Local Government Area, Niger State, Nigeria. In order to achieve the stated objective, this is to examine the impact of minimum wage and salary on staff productivity in the study area. Questionnaire was administered to 100 respondents from various sector of the economy (education, health, power, security etc.) in Suleja Niger state, Nigeria. The data collected by means of questionnaire were analyzed and interpreted using percentage and frequency table. Chi-square (X2) was used to test the hypothesis. The findings showed that there is no significant impact of minimum wage and salary on staff productivity in the study area. The study recommends that the Government should introduce measures which will help identify problems of poor productivity as soon as possible, so as to make better and faster solution (balanced wage/salary and staff productivity).
