WORKFORCE DIVERSITY AND EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT: EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE FROM FOOD AND BEVERAGE FIRMS IN KADUNA METROPOLIS

Abstract

The study looked at the impact of workforce diversity on employee engagement in food and beverage firms in Kaduna metropolis. The study adopted a survey research design, primary data was used for the research and a structured questionnaire was employed for data collection. The population of the study was 590 and 234 were sampled for the study. The study hypotheses were tested using multiple regression. The study established a substantial association between Gender Diversity (GD), Age Diversity (AD), and Ethnic Diversity (ED) and Employee Engagement (EE) within Food and Beverage businesses in Kaduna. The analysis revealed that there were meaningful connections between AD and EE, moreover ED had a significant positive influence on EE. In view of these findings, it is recommends that Food and Beverage establishments in Kaduna region should center on embracing Gender Diversity, Age Diversity and Ethnic Diversity into their workforce to promote employee engagement.
